Actor Rommel Padilla was not able to get enough votes to win his electoral bid for congressman of Nueva Ecija’s first district.
Padilla is far behind PDP-Laban’s Ging Suansing, his sole opponent for the said position, with only 98,240 vote, based on COMELEC’s unofficial results as of 2:04 PM (PH time) of May 16.
Suansing is on the lead with 149,697 votes, based on the 100% transmitted election returns from the area.
Prior to the midterm elections, Padilla was endorsed by his son, actor-singer Daniel Padilla, as well as his former partner, TV host-singer Karla Estrada.
Daniel even took a quick break from his showbiz commitments to help his father during the campaign period.
