Politicians and celebrity couple Richard Gomez and Lucy Torres-Gomez are expected to retain their political positions in Leyte.

As seen in the unofficial but nearly complete results of the elections, Richard, who is running for mayor of Ormoc City under the PDP-Laban banner, received 77,573 votes as of 7:40 AM Tuesday (PH time).

His opponent, Eric Codilla, is a bit behind with 29,795 votes.

COMELEC said 99.49 percent of election returns in the area have been counted.

On the other hand, Richard’s wife Lucy is also in a good place of getting reelected as the representative of the 4th District of Leyte after receiving 177,938 votes against her opponent Winnie Codilla’s 50,969 votes.
