Hundreds of party goers became captive audience, mesmerized as they were, by a 45-minute  parade of some 120 OFW volunteers in what was dubbed as “A Walk into the Night,” a large scale celebratory procession and a magical play of light and shadow at the Madinat Jumeriah where this year’s Art Dubai is being held until March 23.

The show was done in collaboration with Marlon Griffith, artist from Trinidad and Tobago.

Consul General Paul Raymund Cortes who along with his spouse Dr. Yasmin Balajadia-Cortes were among the night’s dignitaries said: “Pinapakita po natin sa buong mundo na we deserve to be a part of the artistic community.”

The parade featured the mythical Sarimanok with music composed by Exekiel Nuñez with the ensemble created by Armand Zarris Manapat.

The performance was organized by the Philippine Business Council-Dubai and the Northern Emirates. “This year’s program is a celebration of togetherness and explores the unifying aspects of gatherings of people for dances, processions, and festivities,” says Bobbie Carella, Chairperson of PBC Dubai and Northern Emirates.

Another performance will be held at the same venue on Friday, March 22 at the Madinat Jumeirah Conference and Events Centre. Tickets are available online at www.800tickets.com/dubai/family/903-art-dubai-2019/ . Use the promo code PILIPINO50 for a 50% discount. Free entry for students with a valid student ID.
