New Hollywood movie starring Pierce Brosnan to be shot in Abu Dhabi

Irish actor Pierce Brosnan, known for being one of the actors to portray James Bond, is expected to come to the UAE next week to film his new movie “The Misfits”.

The European Film Market announced on Tuesday that “The Misfits” will be starting to shoot some scenes on February 18.

Set in the Middle East, the said film follows a master criminal Richard Pace (played by Brosnan) as he got caught up in a major gold heist with implications that go far beyond what he could have previously planned for.

Directed by Renny Harlin and produced by Kia Jam, the film also stars actors Jamie Chung, Hermione Corfield, Rami Jaber, and rapper Nick Cannon.

According to Arabian Business, some scenes of the movie will be shot in Jumeirah at Etihad Towers, Abu Dhabi.

“After visiting and scouting Abu Dhabi, we were blown away,” Arabian Business quoted Jam as saying.

“We all agreed in order to do the film justice, production would have to take place primarily on location in Abu Dhabi rather than LA, and we set up our base at the spectacular Jumeirah at Etihad Towers,” he added.

Other scenes will be shot in Los Angeles, California.

Showing date of the movie is yet to be announced.
