GMA7 officially confirms Regine Velasquez’ transfer to ABS-CBN

After two decades, Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid is officially signing off from GMA Network, a network executive confirmed in a statement on Saturday, Oct. 13.
“After two decades, Regine Velasquez-Alcasid has officially said her goodbyes to the Kapuso Network. We understand her decision to join her husband and we wish her well as she pursues other opportunities outside GMA Network,” Senior Vice President for GMA Entertainment Content Group Lilybeth Rasonable said in a statement.
Amid the news, ABS-CBN issued a statement that Velasquez is set to appear in the overseas show of its variety program, ASAP.

According to a press release posted on the Facebook page of The Filipino Channel – Australia dated October 12, Velasquez will be joining her husband Ogie Alcasid in the “ASAP Live in Sydney” show which will take place on October 20 at the ICC Sydney Theater.

“This marks the first time the best-selling OPM artist of all time will be part of an ASAP live event overseas,” the statement reads.

Velasquez retweeted the said press release of the announcement of her appearance on ASAP.

She also posted a photo on her Instagram account with a caption that reads, “See you guys in Sydney”.

Velasquez is currently in the United States for a series of concerts together with Alcasid.
