Regine Velasquez reveals how Maine Mendoza, Alden Richards helped her mom move on from her dad’s death

Losing a loved one is emotionally difficult for any person, but everyone has their own way of dealing and coping with the emotional pain. For Tess Velasquez, Regine Velasquez’s mother, one way to move on from such a tragic event is to watch Alden Richard and Maine Mendoza’s on-screen love team, AlDub, on television.

The Asia’s Songbird revealed during Alden’s concert titled “Adrenaline Rush” last Friday, September 21, that her mother is an AlDub “super fan” and that their love team has helped her a lot when her husband passed away years ago, reported PEP.ph.

“My father kasi passed away some three, four years ago. And when he passed away, siyempre, malungkot si Mommy,” Regine began.

“Dun yung nag-umpisa yung AlDub! Super siyang na-in love sa inyo ni Maine. One day, sabi niya sa amin, ‘Uy, alam mo naka-move on na ako.’ So malaki ang pasasalamat ko at utang na loob namin sa AlDub,” she continued.

Regine also thanked Alden for bringing happiness not only to her mother, but to their fans all over the world.

“Di ba, noong birthday niya, sinurprise niyo? And that was her best birthday ever! She loves you and thank you for bringing happiness to my mother and to others who are here,” she said.

As a response, Alden promised to continue what he and and Maine have been doing.

“We will never ever get tired of making Mommy Tess and everyone else happy. Kami po ni Maine,” he said.

During their short conversation, Regine also reminded Alden to stay humble and to never change despite the fame he has been experiencing.

“He was already like this and he is still like this so I’m so proud of you, sweetheart and thank you for having me. Don’t ever ever change because you’re such a wonderful person,” she said.

Regine and Alden has worked together in “Bet ng Bayan” which is a GMA reality competition in 2014.
