Jodi Sta. Maria tops Dean’s List in pre-med studies

Jodi Sta. Maria took to Instagram to share the wonderful news that she has successfully finished her school year with a 3.800 Grade Point Average (GPA) in her pre-med studies.

The Kapamilya actress, who is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the Southville International School and Colleges, was emotional when she stepped onstage to accept her certificate for being the top student in this semester’s Dean’s List.

In the caption of her post, she looked back at how her experiences as a student helped her to be the person she is today.

“These past years of taking up a pre-med course has molded me, trained me, tested me but here I am almost at the end of the race as I finish my last year of undergrad studies. I’ve played many roles in my life — an actor, daughter and most importantly being a mother. But being a student had me seeking out one of the most important gifts from God — the chance to pursue my BS Psychology degree.

“Each subject I had was an opportunity to develop myself and achieve new accomplishments,” she wrote.

She also thanked God for guiding her toward her academic journey.

“With every challenge and experience, God prepared me and taught me to run my race without quitting… Thank you, God for the gift of perseverance, patience, and the eagerness to learn and become a student of life. I am just at the start of what will be an even greater journey, and I am excited where it will take me,” she added.

She ended her post by saying that she has only one year left before graduating and that she is more than ready for it.

During the end of her previous semester last January, Sta. Maria has also inspired her fans after she achieved the highest GPA among all the Psychology students, and ranked 7 in the entire school.

In a previous interview, Sta. Maria said that she aspires to work as a guidance counselor after finishing her degree.

“I want to be able to work as a guidance counselor or a rehabilitation specialist,” she said.
