US magazine reveals Kris Aquino’s role in Crazy Rich Asians

Kris Aquino’s role in the film adaptation of Kevin Kwan’s critically-acclaimed novel “Crazy Rich Asians” was revealed by US magazine Teen Vogue.

Aquino, who is currently in Los Angeles, California, shared screen grabs of the article published on Teen Vogue’s website wherein her character was introduced.

The report said she will be playing a Malay princess named Intan who was described as ‘snobbish’.

“Kris has been dubbed the “Queen of All Media” in her home country of the Philippines because of her extensive television and social media career and presence. In the movie, she plays the snobbish Malay Princess Intan, who refuses to speak with anyone,” the article reads.

Aquino also took to Instagram to share a photo which reads “Intan”. The said photo further reveals that Aquino’s name in the movie means “diamond” in Malay and Indonesian.

@teenvogue & @imdb revealed in the get to know the @crazyrichasians CAST that i portray Princess Intan; i shall try to always be 100% honest & transparent because you are part of my life’s journey… dry heat is bad & precipitation here in LA is now at 0%. Hives on my arms are out in full force even if i stayed put indoors… i shall just pray & have #FAITH. Took my medication & had my diphenhydramine shot, put Fucidin on the hives because some of them ruptured & bled out… tomorrow my doctor will give me low dose steroids w/ my anti allergy medication. In this instance- it is really in God’s hands to HEAL me enough- but i need to do my part & totally REST this weekend. 5 AM here, adjusting to the 15 hour time difference. Waiting for my BP to stabilize before i sleep. Because sya yung unang nakapansin, even @rbchanco nag rashes na rin all over sa tension… my friends @iamgarygarcia & Veronica who is a registered nurse rushed over… naawa ako to wake up my doctor since for sure later he’ll be the 1 super monitoring… We told RB, RCA na sya talaga, adopted family member na namin- 1st in ?? sya yung nagbantay w/ me kay kuya josh when he had his 48 hours bad acid reflux attack & now sya ang naka bantay sa kin since we let Bincai rest because sumobra na rin ang nonstop stress nya w/ me from ?? now to the ??. #prayers #healing #thywillbedone ?

In a separate Instagram post, Aquino expressed her excitement after Kevin Kwan described her role as the “highlight of the movie”.

“I was grateful to watch and hear all the generous words to describe me Mr. Curtis Chin used, but to actually view Kevin Kwan answer in reference to me, “she’s a highlight of the movie, for me, she’s a highlight,” what more could a girl who only dreamed of this say but thank you, Kevin, for the affirmation,” she said in the post.

My nephew @jiggycruz sent me the whole interview. #family ? My KCAP team led by @paanipedro edited the meaningful moment for me… i was grateful to watch & hear all the generous words to describe me Mr. Curtis Chin used BUT to actually view @kevinkwanbooks answer in reference to me “she’s a highlight of the movie, for me, she’s a highlight…” what more could a girl who only dreamed of this say but- THANK YOU Kevin, for the affirmation, but more importantly for appreciating that we Filipinos are @crazyrichasians #superfans… i know my part would never have been “tweaked” had it not been because Kevin wanted to reciprocate the #lovelovelove ❤️❤️❤️ we Filipinos have from book 1 ?? consistently supported him with. (The clips we included are from the audition we submitted to the @crazyrichasians casting directors & producers; after the Philippine theatrical release on August 22- we’ll hopefully be able to upload most of it on my official FB page & my @youtube The Aquinos channel.) The 1st few steps of this journey wouldn’t have begun had it not been for @jhett_tolentino & @agentchrislee connecting w/ me through many mutual friends namely @missizacalzado, Manang Nene Chan, and Cong @lenalonte. (Now you can understand why i managed to exercise restraint & nag #carebears kung may ilan na gustong i-downplay & maliitin yung pagkasali ko sa @crazyrichasians, ??because i chose to believe in the wisdom of the saying: Work hard in SILENCE, let SUCCESS make the noise… i’m very blessed because i never had to utter a word- the writer & creator of the Crazy Rich Asians trilogy already said it all for me. He truly is another of my very special guardian angels. #kevinkwanislove?) #positivitywins #gratitude #proudpinoy #philippines ????❤️??
