Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte has shown her love and support to Megastar Sharon Cuneta who is celebrating her 40th anniversary in show business.
Duterte hosted a dinner for Cuneta last Thursday, August 2, when she went to Davao City to stage a concert titled ‘Sharon 40th Mega Philippine Tour’ at the SMX Davao Convention Center.
Davao City Information Officer Jefry Tupas shared the photos of the dinner however no further details about it were revealed.
“Mayor Inday Sara and Sharon Cuneta had dinner in Davao City Thursday night… Mayor Sara is a ‘Sharonian’,” Tupas wrote on Facebook.
Through an Instagram post, Duterte further explained that she began idolizing Cuneta when she met in Davao City her when she was only 10 years old.
“My very first cassette tape was a Sharon Cuneta album. In 1988, I pleaded with Digong if I could meet her when she visited Davao. She was 22 years old then and was very kind to me when I was a starstrucked 10 year old.
You are still the gracious person from 30 years ago but I feel that you are happier now. Davao will always welcome you. Happy 40 years in show business!” Duterte wrote on Instagram.
