WATCH: Behind-the-scenes footage of Tom Cruise’s movie shot in Abu Dhabi

Movie enthusiasts in the UAE are excited to see Hollywood actor Tom Cruise’s new movie “Mission: Impossible – Fallout” as some of the scenes in the said film are shot in the country.

The sixth installment in the Mission: Impossible film series will follow the story of Ethan Hunt, Cruise’s character, who is an IMF agent on the run with his team after failing to capture Solomon Lane, an anarchist mastermind, during a mission.

The movie will also have an all-star ensemble consisting of Henry Cavill, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Sean Harris, Angela Bassett, Michelle Monaghan, and Alec Baldwin.

For this film, Cruise performed a halo jump on camera, the first actor to do it, in the UAE capital. The halo jump is actually a military tactic done by soldiers trying to enter another country undetected.

Performing the stunt is not an easy feat. Cruise had to inhale pure oxygen for 20 minutes to avoid hypoxia or oxygen deficiency. Once the cameras started rolling, he had to jump off a plane. He had filmed the dangerous stunt in March in Abu Dhabi.

The 30-minute behind-the-scenes footage showed the actual stunt that Cruise did himself in Abu Dhabi. It also showed some of the scenes they shot in Paris, Great Britain, New Zealand, and Norway.

The footages of his famous Abu Dhabi jump is on the 22:15 mark.
