First global representatives for “Tawag ng Tanghalan” to face other grand finalists starting June

Steven Paysu and Makoto Inoue are the first ever global representatives who will advance to the grand finals of the “Tawag ng Tanghalan”, one of the popular segments of ABS-CBN’s noontime show “It’s Showtime”. The “Huling Tapatan” (final showdown) is set to take place starting June 2 which will be aired in most countries via The Filipino Chanel (TFC).

Paysu, an American Red Cross lab technician, managed to impress the judges with his stage presence and voice, with multi-awarded singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid impressed by Paysu’s rendition of “Bakit Ngayon Ka Lang”. Paysu said that his life story with his wife has motivated his friends: “We were told that we were an inspiration to them. It’s a big blessing being a part of Tawag ng Tanghalan”.

Inoue, a public school teacher at Japan, said that the journey wasn’t easy, but it has changed his life for the better. “I almost gave up on my dreams. I was rejected and turned down but Tawag ng Tanghalan gave me an opportunity to fight for my dreams and lead me a few steps closer to my dream.”. It was former “The Voice of the Philippines” grand winner Mitoy Yonting saying that he will see Inoue in the grand finals.
