DFA responds to ‘misbound’ Philippine passport

ERRORS happen.

This is the response Foreign affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. gave to a netizen who raised to him the problem one traveller encountered with his Philippine passport.

In an earlier report of The Filipino Times, a Facebook post by Carlos Canlas showed the pages in his new passport were not in order and was held at the immigration because of this “stupid error.”

“When I received my passport, all the important details like my name, birthdate, etc are correct so I didn’t bother checking all the pages. Who checks their passport ba page per page?” Canlas said.

Canlas advised travellers to check their passports even the pagination.

His post became viral and was shared 20,000 times.

Netizen @_Baruroy raised Canlas’ referred this incident to Locsin and tweeted, “Ano ito @teddylocsin? Ang galing nyo naman.”

“Misprinting and misbinding can happen. No need to turn sioki over it,’ Locsin replied.

Sioki is a street slang for homosexual.

Locsin also thought checking data entries as well as pagination of your new passport as “good advice.”
