President Rodrigo Duterte decided to turnover the smuggled Hummer vehicles to the police and military instead of destroying them along with the other luxury cars confiscated from different ports in the country.
Ten of the confiscated Hummers and vans were spared from destruction and will be distributed to the Philippine National Police and Armed Forces of the Philippines for official use, reported Philstar.
Last Monday, Duterte witnessed the bulldozing of luxury cars worth P297 million. The cars were seized by the Bureau of Customs in a bid to stop smuggling.
The smuggled cars included brands like Mercedes-Benz, Pajero, BMW, Porsches, Nissan, Jaguar, Audi, Ford, and Lexus.
