A group of robbers ran away with an unidentified sum of money after they dug a tunnel on the ground to break into a bank’s premises on Monday, October 2.
The robbers, also known as the “Termite Gang” broke into a Chinabank branch located along Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City.
Authorities are still determining the amount stolen from the bank, GMA News reported.
This was not the first time the robbery gang struck an establishment in Metro Manila using the same modus operandi.
In March, the same gang victimized a pawn shop in Marikina, running off with over P800,000 in cash and jewelry after digging a tunnel leading to a drainage canal a few kilometers away.
