Expect rain, wind, and dust to hit UAE

The National Center of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) on Saturday has predicted chances of rain in the UAE for today and will continue until Monday.

Some parts of the country will receive rainfall, particularly the mountainous areas of the eastern areas, the NCMS said. The country will be experiencing showers despite the general weather prediction of “hot to very hot” as mercury soars to 50 degrees Celsius in internal areas.

The UAE is seeing rainfall during summer due to a combination of cloud seeding and natural weather phenomena. Successful cloud seeding has brought rains over the northeast side of Al Ain.

Since July 7, windy and dusty conditions have prevailed across the country reducing visibility.

The Sunday forecast reads: “Hot to very hot weather in general, hazy at times, with a chance of towering convective clouds formation over some eastern and southern areas by afternoon, may be associated with some rainfall at east. Light to moderate winds in general, freshening at times during daytime, causing blowing dust/sand especially at north.”
