An Asian worker has been sentenced to three years in jail for taking a video of a female shopper while she was trying a new pair of jeans inside a fitting room of a Dubai mall.
The 25-year-old Sri Lankan man admitted breaching the woman’s modesty before the Court of First Instance.
He will also be deported after completing his jail term.
“As I took my trousers off and sat on a chair I felt a movement outside the room’s door. I looked down and saw a mobile phone which was filming,” Khaleej Times quoted the 34-year-old victim as saying.
The report said the accused worked as an employee in the shop where the incident happened.
