The ex-husband of former actress Alma Moreno, ex-Marawi City mayor Fahad Salic, was arrested Wednesday night in Cagayan de Oro City over his possible involvement in the ongoing rebellion in Marawi City.
Salic is related to the Maute clan, who includes the brothers Omar and Abdullah, leaders of the Islamic State-inspired militants who took over Marawi City on May 23.
One of Salic’s wives is a sister of Ominta “Farhana” Romato, the first wife of Cayamora Maute, father of the Omar and Abdullah, according to reports.
Romato is wanted by the military while Cayamora Maute was arrested on Tuesday in Davao City together with four members of his family.
Maute is facing charges of rebellion and illegal possession of firearms and explosives.
