Abu Dhabi-based cancer support group Shades of Pink Society recently celebrated its 5th anniversary at the Ramada Hotel Corniche on May 6.
In attendance was Deputy Head of Mission and Consul General Marford Angeles of the Philippine Embassy in the UAE, along with nearly 100 community leaders and guests from Abu Dhabi and other parts of the UAE.
The highlight of the event was the oath-taking ceremony for the organization’s officers. The following individuals were appointed to key positions:

Dr. Sharon Dreisbach, Assistant Professor at Skyline University College in Sharjah and a breast cancer survivor, was the event’s guest speaker. Dr. Dreisbach shared her personal formula for beating the deadly disease with the attendees.
The event also featured special performances from America’s Got Talent Finalist Peter Rosalita and the Organisasyon ng mga Pilipinong Mananayaw at Mangaawit sa Abu Dhabi (OPMMAD).
The night ended with a special message of gratitude to all attendees from Shades of Pink Society Founder and Cancer Survivor Regina “Gie” Drew.
The organization aims to provide support and assistance to those battling cancer in the UAE and has been making a positive impact on the community for the past five years.
