Vaccine Czar Carlito Galvez is pushing for the second COVID-19 booster shot for seafarers and overseas Filipino workers.
“We are also respectfully recommending to HTAC that they should also look to include the seafarers kasi kinakailangan po ng seafarers po natin saka ng OFW na kailangan fourth dose na rin po sila kasi dito po sa Qatar at saka dito sa UAE, nire-require po ng kanilang employer na fourth dose na po,” Galvez said.

The Food and Drug Administration said has previously approved the rollout of the additional booster shots to medical frontliners, senior citizens and immunocompromised individuals.
Galvez also wants the expert panel to fast-track the approval of the booster doses for health workers before a possible surge.
