Heavy rainfall and thunderstorms lashed various areas of the UAE on Sunday night as the rainy weather is expected to continue Monday.
Moderate to heavy rain fell over parts of Abu Dhabi, western region of Al Dhafra and Ruwais, Al Ain and Sweihan, Al Barsha in Dubai, and Ras Al Khaimah.
The National Center Meteorology (NCM) issued weather alert across UAE with lightning and thunder alert in various parts of the country at times.
“It will be dusty and cloudy with a chance of rain during daytime especially northward and eastward,” NCM said.
A chance of convective cloud formation associated with rainfall with fog formations is predicted to occur.
Strong winds with speed reaching up to 50 km/hour will cause low horizontal visibility will last until 10 p.m. of Monday.
Arabian Gulf will be turbulent at times with wave heights of up to 6-8 feet while Oman Sea will be very with waves reaching up to 8 feet.
