Second Filipina domestic worker tests positive for coronavirus in Hong Kong

The Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong has confirmed that another domestic helper was diagnosed with the coronavirus disease on Thursday.
“The Hong Kong Health Department officially informed the Consulate General this morning that a 29-year-old Filipina has tested positive for COVID-19,” Consul General Raly Tejada said in a statement.
Tejada added that the Consulate immediately called the patient and had a brief conversation with her to check on her condition.
“She is in good spirits and said she no longer has fever. She added that she is well taken care of but hospital visits are not allowed given that she is in isolation,” Tejada recalled.
The patient has also requested some of her personal items and asked for confidentiality on her identity.
“As of today, only one (1) Filipino remains in quarantine. She is healthy and asymptomatic and will be released tomorrow 28 February,” the Consulate added.
The first Filipino COVID-19 patient in Hong Kong is scheduled to be released this week, provided her test results remain negative.
“The Consulate will continue to closely monitor the condition of all our nationals and render all necessary assistance to them,” the statement added.
