The Department of Health (DOH) has confirmed the second confirmed case of the 2019 novel coronavirus in the country on Sunday.
The second confirmed case was the companion of the 38-year-old woman who tested positive last week from Wuhan, China.

DOH reports that the second confirmed patient died from pneumonia, and this is the first recorded death from the virus outside China.
The DOH said that 24 persons under investigation tested negative for the novel coronavirus. No community spread of the virus yet in the Philippines.
