Emirati Social Media Influencer and 2018 The Filipino Times Awards Personality of the Year on Social Media Khalid Al Ameri is among the personalities who received his very own star at the Dubai Stars unveiling on Sunday.
He was accompanied by his wife Salama and their kids during the event.
The social media influencer was also recently hailed as one of the awardees for the 2018 The Filipino Times Awards for representing the UAE as a model country for tolerance and understanding, as well as his valuable contribution in bridging the gap between different cultures though his thought-provoking social media content.
The Dubai Stars on Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard is Dubai’s version of Walk of Fame. Once completed, this will soon feature 10,000 Dubai Stars in Downtown Dubai.
Initially, there were 400 stars that were given their very own stars on Sunday. The unveiling coincided with the One Year to Go concert, marking a year until Expo 2020 Dubai.
The first to receive a Dubai Star was Lebanese designer Elie Saab. This was revealed at a ceremony in April this year during the launching of Saab residences, a collaboration between the Lebanese fashion powerhouse and developer Emaar.
The voting has started since May.
Other famous faces who have already been honored with a Dubai Star are Huda Kattan, Mohamed Salah, and Priyanka Chopra.
