When Filipinos hear the first few lines of the songs “My Love”, “Queen of My Heart”, “Swear it Again” – they easily pick up the rest of the lyrics and sing along with these hit songs popularized by Westlife. And now, Filipino fans of the Irish boyband here in the UAE will soon get the once-in-a-lifetime chance to watch them live on stage here in Dubai this coming August 29 at the Coca-Cola Arena!
Westlife’s concert, titled “The Twenty Tour”, literally marks 20 years of the group’s successes that they attribute to their loyal fans and music lovers all around the globe since they started the group signed by talent manager and popular talent show judge Simon Cowell back in 1999.
The group has since won the hearts of the masses worldwide including the Philippines and the UAE and has since been recognized as one of the best boybands of all time, winning many awards and even gaining accolades and breaking Guinness World Records including being the first to achieve seven consecutive number-one singles in the United Kingdom.
Organized and produced by BookMyShow, the concert will see the group perform once again in Dubai after eight long years following their hiatus. Just last year, the group came back strong with their new hit single “Hello My Love” released January this year, followed by “Better Man” in March and “Dynamite” just recently in July.
Fans can anticipate singing along with the band’s iconic and nostalgic hits including “If I Let You Go”, “Fool Again”, “Mandy”, “World of Our Own”, “You Raise Me Up” and more!
