DUBAI: Consul General Paul Raymund Cortes yesterday urged UAE residents excited to see the two-time, record-breaking Imagine Show scheduled for tomorrow’s celebrations of Philippine Independence Day at Dubai Festival City to be there early for the best view as they witness the country’s history unfolds in lights and sounds.
“In commemoration of the Philippine Independence Day on June 12, Wednesday, I would like to invite all my kababayans and all our friends of different nationalities and ethnicities to please be at Dubai Festival City as we inaugurate the record-breaking IMAGINE lights and sounds show,” said Cortes.
“It will be customized in the context of Philippine history and Philippine Independence Day,” he said.
“The show begins at 9pm, but we’d like to ask people to be there earlier than possible, maybe 8:30pm so that there’ll be space for everybody to take a look at the beauty of the Imagine Show,” Cortes added.
Cortes will inaugurate the first show taking place on June 12 at 9:00 pm. The lights, water, and laser show is free-to-attend and is expected to draw in thousands of Dubai residents as Dubai Festival City celebrates 121 years of the Philippine Independence together with the Filipino community in the UAE.
To mark the 121st Philippine Independence Day, the exclusive show will project some iconic landmarks from the Philippines, accompanied by whimsical fountains and lasers lit up with the flags’ red, blue, white and yellow colors choregraphed to popular tunes.
The Imagine Show will have re-runs on the succeeding days, from June 13 to 15 during the following timings: 7:30 pm; 8:00 pm; 9:00 pm; 10:00 pm; and 11:00 pm.
