Tondo man shot dead for calling girl ‘pangit’

Manila, Philippines- A man was declared dead on arrival at a hospital in Tondo, Manila after he was shot dead by an unidentified gunman, Tuesday morning.

Police report said that the victim is Kevin Monsod with an age roughly from 18-23 years old. The Manila Police District said Monsod was shot dead at around 2:20am along Concha street in Tondo.

Initial findings show that Monsod and two of his friends were walking in the area when the gunman arrived riding a motorcycle. Three girls were aboard the motorcycle and one of them is an acquaintance of Monsod’s friend.

The problem happened when one of Monsod’s friends called one of the girls “pangit” or ugly which eventually irked the suspect.

Monsod’s group even kicked the motorcycle and chased it at the corner of the street. The motorcycle driver hit back firing shots at Monsod’s group.

Monsod was fatally hit while two of his companions managed to escape. Police investigation is still ongoing even as the suspect remains at large.
