Is director Cathy Garcia-Molina going to retire soon?

Cathy Garcia-Molina, the director of numerous Filipino romantic box-office hits like “One More Chance” and “A Very Special Love”, announced that she will retire in two years.

The 45-year-old director revealed her plan in a press conference for “Seven Sundays” starring Aga Muhlach on October 8.

Reporters asked her response on Muhlach’s statement that he will only return on TV if Garcia-Molina would direct it.

“Aga Muhlach iyan, e. Oo-ohan ko ‘yan, kaso sana umabot siya. Dalawang taon na lang ako, Aga,” Philippine Entertainment Portal quoted her as saying.

When asked if it means that she’s going to leave the entertainment industry, she admitted that she’s planning to retire for her kids.

“Yes, I already told the company. Pero hindi pa ako pinapayagan…My family needs me. My kids need me.I have given enough for the business and my company. It’s time I give back my children my time,” Garcia-Molina said.

Her contract with ABS-CBN will end in February 2019, she said.

The director also revealed that she will also focus on her relationship with her non-showbiz boyfriend.

She also said that she can finally fulfill her long-time wish: to be a housewife.
