Singer Carol Banawa now a licensed nurse in US

Multi-platinum singer Carol Banawa has traded her stage gowns for scrubs, working as a licensed practical nurse in the United States.

Also known as the Star Diva, Banawa is behind timeless Filipino songs “Tanging Yaman” and “Iingatan Ka”, among others.

Banawa, 36, stepped away from the limelight when she married US military officer Ryan Crisostomo in 2006.

She is now based in Washington, DC, along with her husband and two kids.

In 2010, the hitmaker became a licensed practical nurse. She is currently studying to become a registered nurse (RN).

Banawa on Instagram shares her journey towards becoming a RN, “I was assigned to the OR yesterday for clinicals. My feet were killing me from standing and walking around the whole time but the stuff that I got to witness and observe was so worth it! #futurern #roadtorn

Was assigned to the OR yesterday for clinicals. OR is definitely one of my top 3 choices! ? I was so giddy all day! My feet were killing me from standing and walking around the whole time but the stuff that I got to witness and observe was so worth it! I saw a Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass, Laparoscopic Gastric Sleeve, Panniculectomy and a Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy ? I got to touch an actual piece of the stomach taken out and also the gallbladder with a huge stone inside. I got to see how everything looked on the inside..I felt like a kid in a toy store so excited and eager to see more! ? It was awesome! Thank you God for such an exciting and insipiring day! ? #grateful #inspired #dreamer #futurern #roadtorn #reachforthestars
