LOOK: Clark International Airport ‘before and after’ earthquake photos show quick recovery within 48 hours

A new light of hope shines on the Philippines as Clark International Airport (CRK) showed a fast recovery within 48 hours after a 6.1 magnitude earthquake struck and did considerable structural damages amounting to Php 30 million.

The airport was in full swing of operations once again at 4:00 pm (PH time).

The combined efforts of Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) in coordination with the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Bases Converion and Development Authority (BCDA) was the key to finishing the necessary repairs in record time at the areas that were affected the most: The Passenger Terminal Building (PTB) and the Control Tower.

DOTr Secretary Arthur P. Tugade was pleased with the immediate response to his directives to analyze and review the airport’s structural integrity in their aim to resume the services of the airport at the earliest possible time for the passengers.

After the earthquake struck last late afternoon of April 22 , repairs immediately took place the morning after – on April 23 particularly at the pre-departure area where bulk of the ceiling fell on the floor as shown at the photos on social media.

The power supply has also been resorted,  along with the operations of the flight information systems and CCTVs prior to the launch of today’s flights.
