VP Robredo says Marcos is misleading SC

Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. is “misleading” the Supreme Court in his petition for questioning the vice presidential elections, Vice President Leni Robredo said in a pleading obtained by the media yesterday, May 9.

Marcos earlier argued that Robredo’s failure to pay the cash bond is a reason to trash her counter protest for his petition.

Robredo told the high court, which is the Presidential Electoral Tribunal, that this is not true.

“Protestant Marcos has misled the honorable tribunal,” the Vice President said in a pleading filed by her lawyer Romulo Macalintal on May 5, Friday.

She said she submitted the document “to clarify the arguments raised by protestant Marcos in his omnibus motion”.

Robredo said the points Marcos has presented are “misplaced” and that the petition he filed did not mention about nonpayment of protest fee.

Robredo won over Marcos by over 200,000 votes in the 2016 elections. Marcos has since argued that he was cheated.
