The lavish Malacañang of the North that once became a symbol of power of then president Ferdinand Marcos and his family continuously receives more than 1,000 tourists daily.
This makes it a top tourist destination in Paoay, Ilocos Norte, a report on Unang Balita said on Tuesday.
The former residence of the Marcos’ family was made into a presidential museum when he was ousted as president, but has maintained its beauty through the years.
Outside the residential area, visitors can catch a glimpse of its beautiful garden and the Paoay Lake, which is perfect for the summer season.
Other popular tourist destinations in Ilocos Norte include the Paoay Church, a UNESCO world heritage site for baroque architecture, the Bangui windmills, and the La Paz sand dunes.
