The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has adopted the use of robots to sterilize its hospitals and health centers.
The sterilization process using the aid of Artificial Intelligence was part of the process of the return of all diagnostic and therapeutic services for patients, reported WAM.
Kholoud Abdullah Al Ali, Project Manager and leader of the DHA’s Dubai Future Accelerators team, said that they have introduced the use of eight robots to perform UV sterilization scans for all rooms and corridors in its health facilities. The smart technology aims to make the sterilization process thorough, efficient and less time-consuming.
As the UV robots can move without the need for human intervention, they are deemed to be a safer way for the sterilization. They can also ensure greater and better coverage of high-contact areas.
Moreover, the robots provide 360 degrees coverage and can repeat the same process with high accuracy several times. They can follow certain criteria to sterilize all rooms with reports to highlight the implementation of the process.
Each robot can sterilize a room within 10 to 15 minutes which makes the process of infection prevention and control highly efficient.
Al Ali said that the use of AI was part of their mandate to ensure the utmost safety and wellbeing of their staff and patients.
