The Philippines received Thursday 20 units of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) test kits donated by the government of Brunei Darussalam.
Each test kit is capable of 1,000 tests for COVID-19, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
DFA said the actual test kits were immediately sent to the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM).
A ceremonial turnover of the donation was made on April 8, Wednesday by Bruneian Ambassador to the Philippines Johariah Wahab to Health Secretary Francisco Duque III.
The RITM in Muntinlupa City serves as the country’s main reference laboratory for COVID-19 testing.
As of April 9, there are 4,076 cases of COVID-19 in the Philippines including 203 deaths and 24 recoveries.
