DFA: 172 Filipinos test positive for COVID-19 abroad

The Department of Foreign Affairs reported that 172 Filipinos overseas have tested positive for coronavirus disease or COVID-19.
In a report on Wednesday, the DFA said that 80 of them are still undergoing treatment, 90 have already recovered while two Filipinos died from the virus, including the foreign policy expert in France. No details were given on the second COVID019 death involving a Filipino.
The number of cases are spread throughout 25 countries according to the DFA data. Biggest number of cases were recorded in the Asia-Pacific region with 118 and in 8 different countries. Second is the Americas with 20 cases followed by Europe, the epicenter of the virus, with 19 cases.

Middle East comes next with 16 recorded cases.
The DFA said that some Filipino patients have asked for strict confidentiality regarding their situations.
