US records 26,747 COVID-19 cases, 340 deaths

The cases of COVID-19 in the United States have reached 26,747, according to Johns Hopkins University’s tally of coronavirus cases.
Around 7,123 new cases were diagnosed in last 24 hours.
At least 340 fatalities were recorded across all states and territories of US.

New York state accounts for 12,324 cases, followed by Washington state with 1,793 diagnoses and 94 deaths, while California placed third with 1,511 cases and 28 deaths.
New York City is the epicenter of the outbreak in the nations with 30% of the confirmed cases or 8,115 cases.

According to New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, this was the result of mass testing conducted in the Empire State to give officials a better idea of how to contain it.
Governor Cuomo bared plans to turn facilities in the city – including the huge Javits Convention Center in Manhattan – into temporary hospitals and ordered two million 3M N95 masks to protect the health workers who will treat COVID-19 patients.
