Two cases of travelers who came from the Philippines have tested positive for the coronavirus disease or Covid-19.
The Australian Embassy confirmed on Thursday that a woman who traveled from the Philippines tested positive for coronavirus disease in Australia.
Health officials in Australia said that the 60-year-old woman went to New South Wales from the Philippines on March 3. She tested positive for the virus and is among the new confirmed cases there.
“Her travel details are being obtained and will be disclosed if she posed a risk to any other passengers on her flight,” the statement said from the New South Wales website.
Meanwhile, in Taiwan, a 30-year-old male who resides in northern Taiwan also tested positive for COVID-19.
He has a travel history to the Philippines from February 28 to March 3.
The patient reportedly had diarrhea on March 2 and has returned to Taiwan.
He was diagnosed to have the virus after exhibiting symptoms like dry throat and fatigue.
The Department of Health maintains that there is no local transmission case yet in the Philippines.
