A magnitude of 5.9 earthquake shook the Eastern part of Japan, the weather agency announced.
According to the Japan Meteorological Agency said that the temblor struck at around 3:24 a.m. in the Pacific Ocean off Chiba Prefecture with a focus about 30 kilometers below the surface, in a report by ABS-CBN NEWS.
The weather agency hadn’t issued a tsunami warning.
The earthquake was registered 4 out of 7 on the Japanese seismic intensity scale in the southern part of Ibaraki Prefecture and the northeastern part of Chiba Prefecture while the intensity of the earthquake was also felt across a wide area from the centre up to the Northeastern part of Japan
Meanwhile, the Fire and Disaster Management Agency declared an emergency earthquake warning for another earthquake with a seismic intensity of up to the lower 5 would hit Eastern Japan while encouraging residents to prepare for another strong shock.
