President Rodrigo Duterte joins Filipinos in celebrating Christmas by calling on everyone to help others especially in times of need and reflect on the importance of family.
“May we emulate Christ’s empathy and kindness by opening our hearts and extending our hands to everyone,” Duterte said in his Christmas message.
“I call on every Filipino across the globe to be an inspiration to others through our small acts of benevolence,” Duterte said.
Duterte said that Filipinos should always try to help the less fortunate and share the blessings that they have received in the past year.
“This season is a perfect time, not only to partake in our traditions, but also to reflect on the importance of family at the center of celebration,” he added.
The President also asked Filipinos in different parts of the world to be an inspiration of benevolence.
“Let us strengthen our bonds and deepen our relationships with one another,” he said.
