Senator Lito Lapid had a few words when asked about the status of the renewal of the franchise of ABS-CBN network which is set to expire next March 2020.
Lapid was asked by the media who happened to be part of the Kapamilya network’s hit teleserye ‘Ang Probinsiyano’ before running as senator in the 2019 midterm elections.
“Kawawa naman. Huwag naman, marami ang mawawalan ng trabaho. Basta, magdasal na lang tayo. Sana, walang mawawalan ng trabaho,” Lapid said.
The House of Representatives has yet to tackle the bill renewing the franchise of ABS-CBN, amid President Rodrigo Duterte’s strong stand that this is the end of the Kapamilya network’s reign.
“Masyadong sensitive, lalo na ako, isa ako sa mga magdedesisyon, dadaan sa amin yun,” Lapid added.
Lapid also recalled his journey in show business, which he said helped him in reaching to where he is today.
“Ang pulitika, puwedeng iwanan, ang showbiz hindi. Hindi naman ako magiging pulitiko kung hindi sa showbiz,” Lapid recalled.
