A viral tweet of a wife on Twitter seeking help to leave her husband because of abuse immediately reached Sharjah Police and arrested the Indian husband.
The incident took place on Tuesday evening when she sent a tweet showing her bleeding and swollen face.
“Please help, I don’t want to stay with my husband. I have two kids and I want to go back to India,” the woman said.
UAE authorities immediately rushed to the site and responded to the tweet shared by 37,000 people.
“Thank u everyone for your support… I require same support till we reach my home country India…” said Sultana on her Twitter post.

She also gave some details on what happened that night.
“He assaulted me violently on Sunday night. He punched more on my eyes, twisted my hands backwards, and hit me on my ribs, on my neck and my head. I thought I would die,” she explained, as per a report from Khaleej Times
The couple has two boys aged five years and 17 months.
Sharjah Police said they immediately acted on the complaint and took the husband in custody.
A note of what is being shared through social media about the case of an Asian nationality women who was exposed to violence by her husband in the Emirate of Sharjah, the case was dealt with by the competent authorities.

“The case was dealt with by competent authorities,” the police added.
Authorities however said that it’s not good to share these kinds of stories.
“The Sharjah Police General Headquarters urges members of the public not to share such cases because of the negative repercussions and disturbances among the community.” The video has since been taken down.
The Consulate-General of India to Dubai also tweeted a response on Jasmine’s case.
“We met Jasmine today and are in regular touch with her. We have called her husband to the consulate tomorrow, and understand that local authorities are already questioning him. We will provide all possible help to Jasmine.” the embassy said.
