Nine countries now require vaccination certificates from travelers arriving from the Philippines and other countries affected by polio.
Filipinos are expected to present the certificates before they can be granted with visas or entry permits, as per a report from ABS-CBN News Online.
These nine countries are Brunei, Georgia, Indonesia, Levanon, Maldives, Morocco, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar and Seychelles.
Earlier this week, the Moroccan Embassy in the Philippines issued a clarification that they have yet to check if this is already being implemented.
Countries like Georgia and Indonesia offer oral polio vaccine at the border or at the point of entry.
It was the world Health Organization (WHO) that released a list in July 2019 showing countries that require vaccination certificates from travelers departing from polio-affected countries, including the Philippines.
It was just in September when the virus reportedly reemerged in the country after two decades of being polio-free.
Last month, the Department of Health (DOH) confirmed a third polio case in Maguindanao.
