A man was arrested by the Dubai Police after he stole valuables worth Dh3 million from a safe in an apartment in City Walk.

Major-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police told Khaleej Times they have received a tip about a gang in Europe planning to commit major crimes in the UAE.
The suspect was seen buying his stuff upon arrival before checking in a hotel for a two-night stay.
The man then wore an abaya to hide his identity and went on to the City Walk and opened the safe of his target apartment.
CCTV footage showed that he left the buidling with two bags one with the money and the other with his tools. He changed his clothes in a nearby textile shop and went back to his hotel.
The Dubai Police arrested him after 47 minutes and recovered the stolen goods, including precious watches and money.
“They asked me whether I have insurance. I said no. I’m in Dubai and Dubai is my insurance,” the apartment owner said in a video.
