The Philippines is now experiencing colder weather as the Northeast Monsoon or Amihan season has officially started.
In a statement, Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Service Administration (PAGASA) Administrator Dr. Vicent Malano said strong to gale force northeasterly winds now prevails over the seaboards of Northern Luzon due to the strengthening of the high pressure system over Siberia.
The gradual cooling of the surface air temperature was also felt over the Northeastern part of Luzon.
In Cebu, Jesson Morata captured the thick fog that covered the road in a portion of the Transcentral Highway.
He also shared a video of their journey last Oct. 29 that also showed the fog in other areas of the highway.
According to PAGASA, Amihan is the weather system associated with the Yuletide season.
The southwest monsoon or Habagat officially ended early this October.
