The Philippine Embassy in Lebanon has advised Filipinos to be cautious in light of violent protests that have erupted against the Lebanese government over its proposed tax measures.
“Para sa ating kaligtasan at mabuting kapakanan, umiwas sa mga lugar na maraming tao, may kilos protesta, pagsusunog ng gulong at katulad na gawa,” the Embassy said in a statement on Facebook.
Lebanese security forces have previously fired tear gas against activists in Beirut.
The violent protests have left two people dead and a dozen individuals injured.
The embassy also reminded Filipinos to stay indoors if they don’t have anything to do important outside their houses as protests continue in the country. (Photo credit: CBC)
