Dubai police arrested six Asian men accused of stealing car contents by smashing glass windows with rocks after their owners went to the beach to swim.

Police said they had received many reports about separate burglaries which occur on various beaches in the city.

One report involved an Arab man who parked his BMW car on the road near a beach and went to swim, according to newspapers.

After returning to his car, he found the right back window was smashed and all contents, including money, a mobile phone and a bag, were stolen.

The paper said police arrested the six men after they were identified by witnesses, adding that they all confessed to the crime.
