Huawei has produced a smart TV that uses its own operating system, the HarmonyOS, Agence France-Presse reported.
A company official said it will be marketed by its mid-range brand, Honor.
The product was launched in anticipation of possible US sanctions that would prevent the company from using Android technology.
A ban could hinder the company from access to key hardware and software, including smartphone chips and elements of the Google Android operating system, which runs the vast majority of smartphones in the world, including Huawei’s.
Huawei, which led the use of fifth-generation or 5G equipment and considered the world’s number two smartphone maker, was blacklisted by US President Donald Trump on suspicion that the company provides a backdoor for Chinese intelligence services.
Huawei had denied such allegation.
