A 41-year-old expat is facing charges of sexual assault and invasion of privacy after he allegedly used his mobile phone to capture a video of a Filipina while naked in the shower.
He stood trial before the Dubai Court of First Instance last week. He admitted to committing the act.
Khaleej Times, times reported that the incident happened on March 7 at the Filipina’s flat in Al Muraqqabat.
The Filipina screamed after she saw the hand of someone holding a mobile phone through a small window of her flat’s bathroom.
She asked help from her brother. A watchman of the building told them there weren’t any suspicious person.
The brother and the complainant went to the security guard’s room and checked the surveillance cameras. The shirt gave off the identity of the suspect.
They called the police, who located the defendant with the help of his wife, was arrested and taken to police custody.
The court will come up with the final verdict by the end of this month.
