NAIA makes it to ‘fastest airport terminal to exit’ list

The Transportation Department commends the inclusion of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in one of Asia’s fastest airports to exit list.

Global concierge service Blacklane released the survey.

Blacklane said that it will only need 37 minutes to exit from NAIA making it 7th in Asia’s ‘fastest airports’.

This covers the total time for travelers to exit the aircraft, gather their luggage, secure clearance in immigration and customs, and walk to their vehicles.

Shanghai ranked first in the APAC category. Kansai in Japan is considered to be the slowest in the region.

“I congratulate the MIAA for this achievement. This is evidence that the management of the country’s main gateway is geared towards enhancing the comfort and convenience of the air-riding public,” Transportation Secretary Art Tugade said.

NAIA has always been on the list of ‘World’s worst airports’.

President Rodrigo Duterte made a surprise visit in June to check on the airport operations. The government is now fast tracking the construction of Sangley Airport in Cavite to become an alternative for domestic flights.
