Eid Al Fitr holidays for the private sector will begin on Monday, June 3 (29 Ramadan) until 3rd of Shawwal, with work to resume on 4th of Shawwal, as announced by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE).
This came in a circular issued by Nasser bin Thani Al Hamli, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, in implementation of the UAE cabinet’s decision on setting private sector’s official holidays.
The minister conveyed heartfelt greetings to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates on the occasion, wishing the UAE and the Arab and Islamic nations continued happiness and prosperity.
If Eid falls on June 4, this will be the schedule:
June 3, Monday: 29-Ramadan – 1st day of Eid al Fitr holiday
June 4, Tuesday: 1-Shawwal (Eid Al Fitr) – 2nd day of Eid al Fitr holiday
June 5, Wednesday: 2-Shawwal – 3rd day of Eid al Fitr Holiday
June 6, Thursday: 3-Shawwal – Final day of Eid al Fitr Holiday
If Eid falls on June 5, this will be the schedule:
June 3, Monday: 29-Ramadan – 1st day of Eid al Fitr holiday
June 4, Tuesday: 30-Ramadan – 2nd day of Eid al Fitr holiday
June 5, Wednesday: 1-Shawwal (Eid Al Fitr) – 3rd day of Eid al Fitr Holiday
June 6, Thursday: 2-Shawwal – 4th day of Eid al Fitr Holiday
June 7, Friday: 3-Shawwal – Final day of Eid al Fitr Holiday
Work is expected to resume Saturday, June 8 which will be the 4th or 5th day of Shawwal, depending on moon sighting. However, most companies in the private sector resume Sunday, June 9 – thereby granting a total of 6 days for their holidays.
