An Asian man was arrested after robbing drugged passengers in Bahrain International Airport.
Authorities reported that an investigation about a case that was registered at the Bahrain International Airport lead them to arrest the suspect.
Footages from surveillance cameras in the airport revealed that the suspect offered drinks to the victims as they talk when suddenly the victims appeared to be unconscious and drugged. Few moments later, the suspect was seen robbing the victims.
According to News of Bahrain, the man was caught transferring money and booking a flight to a neighboring GCC country. Police arrested the suspect as he was attempting to board the plane.
Police recovered cash and sleeping pills in the man’s belongings. However, the suspect said that his victims willingly gave their money to him.
The Public Prosecution accused the man of robbery and abuse of drugs. He was referred to Bahrain’s criminal court which adjourned his trial on May 20.
